San Diego County Trenchless Sewer Services

No-Dig Sewer Line Repair & Relining for San Diego County Homes & Businesses

When a sewer line fails, the last thing you want is a crew tearing up your yard. Plumbing Plus has been restoring San Diego County sewer lines since 1984. That's more than 40 years under the same brand and name, and the company is currently led by Michael and Rachael De Silva. We provide trenchless sewer services to both residential homeowners and commercial and property management clients throughout San Diego County, repairing damaged pipes from the inside without excavating your property.

If your sewer line is showing signs of trouble, we’re ready to help. Call us anytime at (858) 630-3141  for a free estimate on trenchless sewer services in San Diego County.

How Trenchless Pipe Relining Works

San Diego County’s housing stock carries decades of history in its pipes. Older homes often have original clay or cast iron sewer laterals running beneath driveways, mature tree roots, patios, and slab foundations. Traditional excavation would mean breaking through all of it. Trenchless pipe relining avoids that entirely.

Every trenchless repair we do begins with a sewer camera inspection. We send a camera through the line to locate cracks, root intrusion, corrosion, and any structural deterioration, giving us a clear picture of the problem before we recommend a solution. Where the pipe retains enough structural integrity, we use cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining: a resin-saturated flexible liner is inserted into the existing pipe, inflated against the pipe walls, and cured in place. The result is a new, seamless pipe formed within the old one, creating a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface that can restore flow capacity without any digging.

Before the liner goes in, we clean the line using hydro jetting, a high-pressure water process that clears scale, grease, and debris so the liner bonds properly to the pipe interior. Once curing is complete, we run a second camera inspection to confirm the repair is thorough and the line is fully functional. The whole process is significantly faster than excavation-based replacement and leaves your landscaping, hardscapes, and floors exactly as we found them.

Signs Your Sewer Line May Need Attention

Sewer line problems rarely announce themselves clearly.

Watch for these signals:

  • Multiple slow drains at once, which often indicates a main line obstruction, not an isolated clog
  • Recurring drain clogs across different fixtures, which may indicate a structural failure deeper in the line
  • Gurgling toilets or drains, often caused by trapped air from blockages or pipe damage
  • Sewer odors indoors or in the yard, a sign of a cracked or leaking lateral
  • Soggy yard patches or unusually lush grass, which could indicate underground leaks feeding soil and roots
  • Unexplained increases in your water bill can also reflect a sewer line leak

Homes built before the 1980s in San Diego County are especially likely to have original clay or cast iron pipes that have been degrading for decades. A camera inspection is the fastest way to see what you’re dealing with before a slow problem becomes an urgent one.

Trenchless Sewer Repair FAQs

How Long Does Trenchless Pipe Lining Last?

CIPP lining is an industry-standard rehabilitation method designed to significantly extend a pipe’s service life. The right answer for your specific line depends on its current condition, diameter, and pipe material. A sewer camera inspection before the job gives us the information needed to assess whether your pipe is a strong candidate and what performance range you can reasonably expect.

Will Trenchless Repair Work for My Pipe?

Relining works when the pipe’s structure is still intact enough to accept a liner. Pipes that are fully collapsed or have major offset joints may not be good candidates. That’s exactly why we start every job with a camera inspection, so we recommend the right method for your actual conditions rather than a one-size approach.

What’s the Difference Between Pipe Relining & Pipe Bursting?

Pipe relining (CIPP) creates a new pipe surface within the existing one and is best suited to pipes that retain structural integrity. Pipe bursting fractures the old pipe outward while simultaneously pulling a new pipe into place, and is used when the existing pipe is too deteriorated to support a liner. We can recommend the appropriate method after inspecting the line.

Do I Need Permits for Sewer Repair in San Diego County?

Permit requirements for sewer repairs vary depending on the scope of work and which jurisdiction within San Diego County applies to your property. A licensed plumber can coordinate the permit process as part of the project, so you’re not navigating that independently.

Is Trenchless Sewer Repair Right for Commercial Properties?

Yes. Trenchless methods apply to commercial drain and sewer lines as well as residential. We serve both residential homeowners and commercial and property management clients across San Diego County, and the same camera-first diagnostic process applies to every job.

      "Would recommend. 10/10"
Amazing service! David and Cole replaced my old faulty water heater on the same day I called. Service was fast and thorough. Both David and Cole were friendly and helpful in making everything work, so I could get my hot water today and didn't have to wait. Great communication and response time. David and Cole were respectful of property, considerate of the neighbors, and were nice to my cat, too. Would recommend. 10/10

Great service from Martin Ruiz of Plumbing Plus. We had a leak in the water pipe coming into our house and he quickly diagnosed it. He had some issues getting the parts but stuck with it and found them downtown. Once he had the parts he quickly fixed the problem. Great job!
