In 1984, Joe Christenson opened a retail plumbing shop here under the name Plumbco, and what began as a fixture-and-supply store quickly grew into what the community actually needed: a full-service residential plumbing company with deep local roots and a commitment to doing right by its neighbors.

Joe earned his California plumber’s license in 1986 and a general contractor’s license in 1988, opening the company up to a broader range of home plumbing and remodeling work across Poway and San Diego County. In 1989, the name became Plumbing Plus, Inc., and the fleet of red, white, and blue trucks started showing up in driveways all over town. 

In May 2010, Joe passed ownership to Michael and Rachael De Silva. Michael had joined the company in 2001 at age 19, trained under seasoned professionals, and worked his way up to lead plumber before taking the reins. Today, Plumbing Plus is still family-owned and operated. It has spent more than 40 years under the same name, serving the same community with the same standard of work.
